"Who Knows?"
This sermon is about a small phrase with a huge point to teach about how to orient ourselves correctly to God. In the Bible, that phrase is "Who knows?" extracted from the mouth of the Assyrian king in Jonah 3.9. The lesson will serve as a brief sermon sketch demonstrating a posture we can adopt that will strengthen our relationship to God, while hinting at a world of theology concerning the freedom of God and the place of mystery.

“And it is that decision, that declaration of faith, that allows you to overcome nihilism, resentment, and arrogance. It is that declaration of faith that keeps hatred of being, with all its attendant evils, at bay. Faith is the realization that the tragic irrationalities of life must be counterbalanced by an equally irrational commitment to the essential goodness of being.”
