We're excited to invited you on this journey our church is taking for 2023, in interceding for the needs of our brothers and sisters in the community. But what is prayer really? As we look to a story about Solomon's prayer in 1 Kings3, we learn quite a bit about the biblical perspective on prayer.

Despite what it seems on the surface, prayer is not about wish fulfillment, about rubbing the magic lap. Prayer is not about conforming God to our wills, but conforming ourselves to God's will. It's another practice by which we learn to surrender to Him who knows best. By analyzing the first mention of prayer in the Bible, Thailer shows us how prayer is all about becoming more like God - be it surrendering to God or interceding on behalf of others.
