In Ephesians 4:29–30, Paul shows us that spiritual warfare is not only fought in dramatic moments, but in ordinary speech. Our words either spread the rot of the old life or give grace to those who hear. In Christ, the mouth becomes one of the places where the curse stops spreading and blessing begins to flow.

Warm-Up:

“O happy living things! no tongue

Their beauty might declare:

A spring of love gushed from my heart,

And I blessed them unaware:

Sure my kind saint took pity on me,

And I blessed them unaware.”
