The Hagah Cards
Jan 5, 2024 • Thailer Jimerson
This sermon will serve as a brief demo on a new tool to aid our congregation in 12 months of writing scripture on our hearts. We'll recap the concept of "Hagah" from Mike's lessons, demo the cards, and then reflect on why all of this is important.
Scripture: Joshua 1.1-9
(Additional Reading: Psalm 1; Isaiah 31.4; Isaiah 59.11; Acts 8.28; 2 Corinthians 3.3)
what is “hagah”?
a demonstration
why these passages?
“Hagah (which means, "moan," "growl," or "mutter") is not really a silent reading or meditation practice but rather an oral and embodied practice. The mouth and throat are the primary body part that engages our mind and heart and body, to fill us with the wisdom of the scriptures.”
