Re-Enchanting the Lord's Supper
Mar 22, 2026 • Thailer Jimerson
In this sermon, we explore how the Lord’s Supper has often been reduced in our minds to mere ritual or bare symbol, when Scripture presents it as something far weightier, holier, and more formative. Looking especially at 1 Corinthians 11 and John 13, we will consider how Christ meets His people at the table, calls them to reverence, and shapes them into a community marked by humility, unity, and love.
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 11.17-34
(Additional Reading: Exodus 24.1-11; John 13.1-17)
Warm-Up:
Why do you feel the Lord’s Supper can start to feel small in churches when the Bible treats it as weighty?
Notes:
“This is more than I had for breakfast.”
